Overview:
This company is looking for functional ingredients applicable for beverages or foods that has efficacy to alleviate hay fever symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, and/or itchy eyes.

Background:
Hay fever is a protective (antibody) response to foreign objects (antigens) such as pollen. The human body creates the antibodies (IgE) to the antigen. Then the human body tries to discharge the antigen outside the body. At that time, an excessive defensive (immune) reaction may cause sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, and/or itchy eyes. The number of hay fever patients has increased in recent years, and severe patients have a difficult time in daily life and business.

Specifically we are seeking materials that affect the immune response. We would like you to suggest materials and provide the following information.

  • Active ingredient
  • Mechanism of action
  • Efficacy/effect on the hay fever symptom
  • Clinical trial on human (This is optional.)

This company wants to identify ingredients with quantifiable effects. Any ingredient or mechanism of action will be considered, even those with unexpected or unusual mechanisms of action.
