Mary Kay James has a managing director role responsible for all aspects of sourcing, analyzing and executing strategic equity investments for DuPont Ventures’ Solar and Energy Storage investing initiatives. In addition she is the Venture liaison for DuPont’s $10B Electronics & Communications and Performance Polymers businesses where she provides open innovation technology options to generate new opportunities for the company. Her recent areas of investment are Cleantech and advanced materials for electronics, authentication and packaging applications.
Mary Kay has over 20 years of business management and development experience and prior to joining DuPont Ventures in 2003 she held various managerial positions in DuPont including Global Business Manager for ETFE and PFA Teflon® Resins, and Sales and Marketing Manager for the Industrial Films and Coatings business. Her experience in these roles spanned several sectors including aerospace, automotive, communications, construction, electronics, food, medical and pharmaceutical industries.
Mary Kay is a recent recipient of a graduate degree in International Business from the University of London. Additionally she holds a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University with emphasis in biofuel combustion. Her Bachelor of Science is also in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State where she was elected to the honorary Pi Tau Sigma fraternity and graduated magna cum laude.
