Dr. Jason Lye is the Director of External Business Development – Technology Assets for Newell Rubbermaid, Inc. His responsibilities include driving growth through technology acquisition and related new business activities with external partners.

Prior to joining Newell Rubbermaid’s External Business Development team, Dr. Lye’s background includes business development experience as a Senior Licensing Manager at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Dr. Lye also has a technical background, and previously conducted digital imaging research with both Kimberly-Clark and Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd., as well as textile fiber development with Acordis. Dr. Lye holds a Ph.D. in Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University, and a B.S. in Colour Chemistry from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. Dr. Lye is a Chartered Colourist, a member of the American Chemical Society, and a member of the Licensing Executives Society.

In his current role, Jason identifies strategic new business opportunities with external partners, conducts due diligence, and negotiates agreements as appropriate. Jason also has accountability for out-licensing of Newell Rubbermaid’s patent estate, which includes processes, products, methods, and materials technology.
