Jay Jubas
|
Jay is a Principal in McKinsey & Company’s Stamford office and a leader of McKinsey’s Innovation initiative. He is currently leading a research effort that has developed new insights and tools that can help large companies “innovate at scale.” He specializes in the telecommunications, technology, and media industries. His recent client projects include:
- Developing a digital media strategy for leading media company.
- Developing a wireless strategy for a consortium of US cable companies who are trying to change the basis of competition in wireless.
- Designing an innovative new service offering for a wireless player. Effort included preparing detailed business and technical requirements.
- Helping structure a new go-to-market model for a cable operator and a portal collaborating in broadband.
- Development of technology roadmap for leading ISP with emphasis on client and host architecture. Engagement led to re-allocation of >$100M in investment.
- Developing strategy and launch plan for wireless attacker in the US (MVNO). Client became fastest wireless company to reach 2M customers in US.
- Diagnostic of product development process at ISP. Engagement has led to a number of improvement initiatives (currently underway) improve time-to-market and quality.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Jay worked as a research associate at M.I.T. Lincoln Laboratory, a federally funded research and development center. While at the laboratory, he contributed to a number of briefings for the Undersecretary of the Air Force on technology issues.
Jay holds a B.S. with highest honors and an M.S. in materials science from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in physics from M.I.T.
