Mr. Ganske joined Axela Biosensors Inc. as the President and Chief Operating Officer in April of 2003, and since November 2004, he has served as Chief Executive Officer with Axela Biosensors. Mr. Ganske has over 25 years of experience in the medical diagnostics and life science fields, and has a broad background in management, operations, science, and regulatory; blended with the disciplines of corporate processes, and successful entrepreneurial business ventures.
Mr. Ganske was the founder and President of Genomic Utilities LLC where he established a life science instrumentation brokerage company that successfully sold in excess of $2 million US annually, including the first year of profitable business.
Mr. Ganske held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Third Wave Technologies (TWTI). During his eight year tenure at TWTI, Mr. Ganske was imperative in setting the operational vision and tactical implementation that brought TWTI from a company with great technology to a company operating at full commercialization, through to an IPO in February of 2001. Mr. Ganske was responsible for building a strong team with strategic and tactical value to TWTI in the areas of bio-informatics, molecular assay manufacturing, technical transfer, regulatory, and information technology. He is named on several patent applications in the areas of bio-informatics processes, systems for manufacturing oligonucleotide detection assays, and open and closed nucleic acid synthesizers.
From 1980 until joining Third Wave, Mr. Ganske held various management positions in quality engineering, quality assurance, operations, and was the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Becton Dickinson and Company (BDX). Prior to 1980, Mr. Ganske held positions in production testing and engineering at Technicon Laboratories.
Mr. Ganske currently acts in a management advisory role for two separate diagnostic/life science companies. Mr. Ganske received an Associates Applied Science Degree in Electronics Technologies from Utah Technical College. He furthered his education at University of Utah, York College of Pennsylvania, and executive summer sessions at the Harvard Business School.
