Mr. Kratzman is Senior Vice President and Director of Health Sciences, Finpro North America. He joined Finpro in 1994 as an international business strategist focusing upon market entry, technology transfer, foreign direct investment and M&A within the life science and healthcare arenas, including nutraceuticals and e-health. He is Finpro’s North American Director of its Health Science Practice, as well as one of Finpro’s internal trainers, author of Finpro’s market entry program and a member of the corporate management team defining the organization’s future. Mr. Kratzman is presently the lead member of team defining a national globalization and technology commercialization strategy for Finland.
Mr. Kratzman has 28 years experience in the international marketplace working with start-ups through Fortune 100 companies. His expertise lies in strategic market entry, restructuring/repositioning and corporate image and identity. He has worked on both the client and agency sides of the business equation having established the US operations for more than 10 companies, launched over 20 consumer, medical and scientific products and negotiated an equal number of licenses.
Prior to Finpro, Mr. Kratzman was instrumental in the restructuring of KPMG’s International Trade and Investment Practice. He was Vice President and Global Director of Economic Development for Burson-Marsteller and a Vice President at Hill and Knowlton. Val worked for Norges Exportrad for eight years. Mr. Kratzman started his career in technology transfer focusing upon the licensing and sale of medical, scientific, and biological technologies from Australia. He created the first technology transfer program for Austrade in the software industry.
Mr. Kratzman is a graduate of the Wharton Business School (AMP) and the Pennsylvania State University. He completed graduate studies in health care administration at George Washington University and attended the University of Chicago’s Executive Education Program. Val is a guest lecturer at The New York University Executive MBA Program and a published author. Mr. Kratzman resides in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife, an environmental educator, and their two children.
