Hideki Segawa is General Manager of the Technology Strategy Center, Corporate Technology Planning Division of Ricoh Co. Ltd., in Japan. He is in charge of setting the technology direction for the future of Ricoh.

Mr. Segawa joined Ricoh in 1982. He was one of the Japanese delegations for ISO of MO (Magnetic Optics) 90mm optical disk. Prior to his current position, he stayed five years at Silicon Valley. During that time, he created and supported the team making direct investments in ventures targeting strategic, rather than financial, return. In addition, he is the original core member to start the product “eCabinet,” which is a kind of thin server that operates in the background of typical office work-flows, capturing many different types of information.

Ricoh is a global leader in digital office solutions, contributing to the success of businesses in every corner of the world.
