| The apparatus measures various Process Parameters and/or physical properties of fluid or gas medium by measuring the change of a wave signal or time dependant signal as it traverses the fluid or gas medium. The apparatus includes: a transmission transducer that transmits an ultrasonic pulse into the fluid medium or gas; a reception transducer displaced from the transmission transducer for receiving the ultrasonic pulse from the fluid medium or gas; and an analog signal processor coupled to the reception transducer for processing the received ultrasonic pulse such that a short interval of the processed received ultrasonic pulse is extracted. The apparatus is capable of measuring: the flow velocity of a fluid medium and/or gas in a conduit; the level of a fluid medium and/or gas in a vessel, tank or conduit; and the velocity in a binary mixture of fluid medium or gas where the velocity would determine the proportion of each component in the binary mixture.apparatus transmits ultrasonic pulse conduit wall medium measured received receiver located either upstream downstream flow analog signal amplified level adequate subsequent correlation followed analog-to-digital conversion analysis correlator shift register peak detector performs extracts interval operation accomplished cross-correlating patterns codes transmission electrical generate timing limits amount information accurate determination time few points data side output ascertain position limiting specifically components energy consumed kept minimum |
