| Honeywell has developed a precious metal alloy which offers superior high temperature erosion resistance and improved durability over pure platinum, pure iridium, pure gold, and 90% platinum-10% nickel alloy. This metal alloy can be formed by casting, hot working, drawing, or conventional powder metallurgy techniques and offers capabilities for laser or resistance welding to appropriate base metals. Parts fabricated from the alloy may be utilized in spark plugs, igniters, high voltage air gaps, and other cost sensitive applications requiring high voltage electrical wear. |
