| Gel-type electrolytes generally have high conductivity, and our solid polymer electrolyte features top-level ionic conductivity and elasticity or viscoelasticity . The solid polymer electrolyte has no fluidity, thereby enabling laminated thin packages or large high-safety packages to be used for electrochemical devices. These include lithium ion secondary batteries, lithium batteries, large batteries for electric vehicles, large batteries for houses, capacitors, indicator devices, and electrochemical sensors. Beyond increased capacity, it helps make devices small, lightweight and flexible. We have been studying solid polymer electrolytes since the 1980’s; this technology is one of our achievements as a pioneer in this field. The achievement is based mainly on the combination of three technologies: the acrylate monomer recipe, the imide electrolyte salt recipe, and the electrode structure based on the stacking of spherical particle spacers. Thanks to these three technologies, our solid polymer electrolyte features high ionic conductivity (>10E-3 S/cm) and high viscoelasticity (>10E3 dyn/cm2). For this reason, we are able to improve safety of an electrochemical device by replacing the conventional electrolytic solution with a solid, which is generally based on a non-aqueous organic solvent. We do this while maintaining voltage and current properties at almost the same level. Specifically, our solid electrolyte enables laminated thin packages or large high-safety packages. Multiple US patents have already been issued for this technology.solid polymer electrolyte features top-level ionic conductivity viscoelasticity even gel-type electrolytes whose generally specifically achievement based mainly combination three acrylate monomer recipe imide |
