| This unique process generates carbon/carbon composite honeycomb structures with improved mechanical properties and high thermal conductivities. The honeycomb structure, produced from a low-modulus pitch precursor carbon fiber composite, is carbonized, densified by CVD/CVI, and then heat-treated to graphitize both the carbon fiber and carbon matrix.
