| Honeywell offers an innovative load driver circuit which achieves both high efficiency and fault tolerance. This unique circuit produces a constant current (the minimum required to safely operate the intended load, such as a solenoid in a control system) and consumes less power than if driven by more conventional circuitry which allows output current to vary with power requirements. This arrangement substantially reduces the power needed by a particular system. Use of the Honeywell load driver also eliminates the conventional need to account for temperature and power supply variations--which add cost and complexity to the electrical system without a commensurate increase in reliability. In addition, the load driver circuit is transformer coupled to the load. Therefore, a failure in the load device will result in zero volts output from the load driver. |
