| Honeywell technologies offer newly discovered crosslinkable compounds which are utilized as co-monomers or end-cappers for the preparation of many polymers. These compounds introduce thermally reactive crosslinking sites into polymers and enhance the thermal and solvent resistance properties of compounds such as fluorinated poly(arylene ether) (FPAE). In addition to increasing thermal and chemical resistance properties, these novel crosslinking agents reduce stress-crazing and water absorption in the polymer--thus maintaining a low dielectric constant even in the presence of humidity. When thermally crosslinked, dielectric films made from these polymers provide improved properties valuable in next-generation multilayered IC chips, multichip modules, and other microelectronic devices.Honeywells unique crosslinkable polymeric composition repeat units |
