| This technology provides a semiconductor light-emitting device in which the light-emitting edge surface lighting-type light-emitting diode (LED) array, formed on a substrate using an etching method, has a uniform shape that results in uniform light intensity and high production yield; the terrace, formed under the light-emitting edge surface together with the grooves, prevents the light-emitting edge surface from becoming an edge of the baseboard and protects it from damage caused by handling during mounting because it is formed in a portion that is recessed from the edge of the substrate. A surface of the substrate in front of the light-emitting edge surface is formed in multiple-stage so that a light beam is not reflected by the surface of the substrate.
