| This new technology provides fluids having unique and improved rheological properties when subjected to electrical fields, useful in all types of servo-electromechanical devices such as: actuators for transmission of torque (clutches, brakes); actuators for control systems (heat, power, dampers, valves, switches, etc.); and also for inks used in electrorheological fluids in ink jet printing systems. These fluids generate a large shear stress in response to even weak electrical fields applied, exhibit depressed current density at the high shear stress, and do so with high time durability (defy the effects of aging). |
