| This technology provides an effective process for producing a unique high molecular weight polydioxolane polymer, which has important physico-chemical properties making it an excellent component in films useful in packaging materials, binders, molded materials, film castings, plastic bags, controlled release of drugs, etc.; and other varied applications such as substrate coatings for ink-jet printing, hot melt adhesives, and parting agents or coatings. A high molecular weight polydioxolane has broad industrial and consumer utility due to the unusual characteristics of forming a soft film which has excellent mechanical properties, is stable even under high humidity, has high water resistance, and additionally only partially crumbles in cold water. |
