| Honeywell's inventive magnetic geartooth sensor and associated circuit determines a threshold value as a function of the minimum and average output values from a sensor output. The difference between the minimum and average signal is scaled and used to establish a threshold value suitable for a chosen application. The invention utilizes an analog approach that is optimized for geartooth applications with a 50% duty-cycle. The process is much less susceptible to gear run out and gap variations versus competing designs and results in improved reliability and performance. |
