| Honeywell's improved, nonwoven battery separator promotes fluid flow through use of a new type of tri-lobal, hollow fiber. The fiber's longitudinal cavities "wick" fluid and enable microcapillary action. Fluidic contact is then established with adjacent plates--even at low electrolyte levels. Battery capacity and life are extended as a result. These advantageous fibers may be produced from a host of polymers and can be used for wet and gel cell batteries. |
