| Over more than 100 years of technology development resulted in high speed, low cost web coating technology to apply multiple functional thin layers on different substrates, such as PVC, PC, PET, Cellulose triacetate, PE-paper or other treated papers, etc., with a width of more than 1 meter. The coatings are applied from aqueous or solvent based solutions, dispersions or emulsions with well defined droplet sizes between 100 and 500 nm. Up to 15 layers can be coated simultaneously. Optionally the foil substrate can be coated in-process with one or more layers of solvent based components. The technology and know-how is available to produce the aqueous coating solutions, dispersions and emulsions, including dispersions of nanosized materials. Specific shapes of crystals with a narrow size distribution are produced. This technology can also be used e.g. for the production of core shell crystals or for coating small particles in an aqueous dispersion. Batch processing between 200 and 3,000 liter is available as well as ultrafiltration on large scale. All know-how is present for slitting and converting foils and paper materials and for packaging the finished products under carefully controlled conditions, such as lightproof, climate resistant bags, plastic boxes, folded paper boxes.
