| The technology presented here is capable of printing continuous tone images (such as photographs) with many grey levels, by the use of super-pixels made up of a combination of dots, wherein each of the dots is indepentenly controlled with respect to the size of each dot, the density of each dot, and an overlap of at least two of the dots. Inks with different grey levels can be used. The method of choice is ink jet printing, but other printing techniques are possible.
