| A three layer semi-permeable membrane structure for use in textile applications, consisting of a hydrophilic inner layer and hydrophobic exterior layers of copolyetherester elastomer films, leads to an enhanced lifetime breathable waterproof structure compared to conventional two layer structures. The three layer design leads to reduced water absorption while maintaining good vapor transmission. In two layer structures water absorption can lead to swelling and delamination from the attached fabric during repeated laundering and drying. |
