| CaseKeys is a complementary technology, it works with existing anti-spam technologies to improve their "false positive rate" - to ensure that legitimate messages are not mistaken for spam. All anti-spam solutions can benefit from CaseKeys technology. As none of the existing anti-spam technologies are perfect, all of the anti-spam solutions available today can be improved by incorporating CaseKeys technology. Whatever their current "false positive rate" - CaseKeys can improve it by approximately 90%. The basic concept of CaseKeys is very simple - just use the case of the letters to embed a unique key in to each instance of an email address. In practice, a basic implementation of CaseKeys will yield a better then 80% improvement in a system's "false positive rate". However, this can be improved still further through the implementation of a "partial matching system" which provides support for emails from systems which only preserve the case of the "Left of the @" part of the email address (5%-10% of systems). The technology is easy to implement at the ISP level. It is relatively simple to dynamically embed CaseKeys in to all outgoing messages at an ISP's SMTP server. The insertion of CaseKeys can be preformed in place as they do not alter the length of a message. Incoming messages can easily be scanned for CaseKeys and marked as not spam at the ISP's incoming SMTP Server.CaseKeys solution concerned augmenting email addresss binary representation embedded key information carried transparently though Internets (unmodified) |
