| SST (Speaker-Specific Technology) improves the performance of equalized audio systems, particularly lower-end equipment. Lower-end speakers suffer from “cone cry”—speaker cone resonance at a narrow and easily identified frequency. Other identifiable resonances occur in such systems, too. The SST speaker correction algorithm is based on the physics of the speaker. It eliminates the offending resonance with a compensated notch filter, enhancing the frequencies on the two sides of the notch. It then “voices” the speaker using traditional equalization techniques. SST corrects for drawbacks such as minimal parts, thin enclosures, and small magnets, and removes mechanical sounds from the system while maintaining tonal balance. SST is easily incorporated into DSP (digital signal processing) chips.SST (Speaker-Specific Technology) performance equalized audio systems lower-end equipment Lower-end speakers suffer cone cryspeaker resonance narrow easily identified frequency identifiable resonances occur correction algorithm based physics eliminates offending compensated notch filter enhancing frequencies two sides voices traditional equalization techniques corrects drawbacks minimal parts thin enclosures small magnets removes mechanical sounds maintaining tonal balance DSP (digital signal processing) chips |
