| The Board Design Test Vehicle is a method for objective evaluation and qualification of supplier capabilities for the fabrication of a multilayer printed circuit boards. It is used to analyze and assess technical capability and reliability of products that are provided by a supplier. The design incorporates features that allow for analysis of variables data to determine actual process capabilities statistically and accurately, with a minimal amount of effort. For example, the data can be plotted with distributions to determine process capability (Cp and Cpk), mean, standard deviation, and so forth. This can reveal whether the data is "filtered" or cherry-picked, and can help you evaluate the repeatability and consistency of processes. The design is unique in its approach in that it is "configurable" and has many technical options all embedded in a single test/qualification vehicle.
