| Typically catheters utilize gravity to allow urine to drain into a bag at a constant rate. Because of this, the bladder remains dormant and retains a constant amount of fluid causing bladder atrophy. This method gives a person no choice but to have to wear a catheter bag. This product allows for a person to do away with the catheter bag and simply attach a valve to the catheter. This valve will allow the user to relieve themselves at will by opening/closing the tip of the valve. This mere action mimics the bladder, in which case releases the urine from the bladder, reducing the risk of bladder atrophy. |
