Any fluid can be analyzed, including blood, serum, and other biological fluids. Tests are non-destructive. The techniques require no reagents or other chemicals, and thus there are no chemicals to store or dispose of. The spectroscopic signatures obtained from the samples can be used to aid the diagnosis of disease, among other applications, because molecular signatures are unique. The technique has a high sensitivity to the conformation of the molecule: shape, folding, symmetry, and its state. A key to the technology that is included in the portfolio is proper sample preparation. Water absorbs IR light. This technology includes optimized procedures for drying samples that can be automated.
