| This technology comprises know-how that DuPont has developed and commercialized into a unique manufacturing technology that can be used with a wide variety of nonwoven fabrics and is especially suitable for creating cross-directional soft stretch elasticity. In contrast to existing processes, this technology provides a thermo-mechanical process for treating fabrics at higher speeds suitable for cost effective commercial production, enabling a wide range of practical cross stretch/elastic fabrics with unique performance characteristics and high uniformity. Examples include polypropylene spunbond fabrics with up to 80% recovery at 100% elongation and high stretch fabrics with up to 400% elongation. This innovative technology is latex-free and utilizes no elastomeric polymers. These cross directional elastic nonwoven fabrics provide a vast opportunity to introduce improved products to a large number of diverse markets such as specialty apparel, medical soft goods, synthetic leather, and hygiene/diaper markets. Contemplated applications include protective apparel, wound care, stretchable synthetic leather, and elastic diaper components. This offering includes a global list of customer leads, an Equipment & Contractor Supply contract for a US pilot plant facility with a capacity of 1 — 3 million lbs/yr, and 20 person-days days of technical experts to transfer the knowledge of the business, technology and operation of the equipment including precursor fabric know-how and elastic nonwoven process know-how.critical benefits enabled ability tailor precursor nonwoven elastic conditions range commercially feasible speeds yields |
