| This new patented technology enables the integration of passive components into the printed circuit board (PCB). Applied for power converters these embedded passive integrated circuits (emPIC) result in a reduction of size and thus in a higher power density. The emPIC is constructed in several layers of passive functions in order to achieve a highly automated, low cost and integral manufacturing method. This technology is especially interesting for applications where size is important like portable electronics, automotive lighting and flat panel televisions and monitors. Also integration in solar power converters seems like an interesting application. |
