| Light has a different behaviour under water compared to in air. One of the most important effects under water is the different absorption levels of different colours. Especially red is absorbed at a high level. This has the undesired effect that colourful objects are seen with less red than in reality. In fact the objects seem to be in different shades of blue. Philips has developed a technology that allows you to design a light that compensates for this effect. It includes the design and know-how to boost the red light output depending on the distance of the object to the underwater light. |
