| This hot melt polyurethane (PUR) formulation is resistant enough to premature polymerization from humidity to allow long term storage, even of individual parts coated with the PUR adhesive prior to pasting. It overcomes two major drawbacks of current hot melt adhesives – 1) short-term storage capability, as traces of water during the preparation or storage of the adhesives may lead to a rise in viscosity and to a premature curing and thus to faulty adhesion due to obstructed lines and nozzles of the application devices, 2.) carbon dioxide gas evolution during the reaction with water, whereby the adhesive could foam and alter the desired position of the joining parts Bonding of most synthetic materials, glass, leather, and wood has good heat stability and resistance against chemicals.
