Possible to Form Transparent and Colorless Magnetic Thin Film Using Printing Techniques
The search for a transparent magnetic substance that is easy to manufacture has been ongoing for many years. The transparent magnetic substance typically used was a rare earth iron garnet film crystallized in a vacuum heated at about 600°C. A large magnetooptic effect (rotational polarization effect as used for LDC) could be obtained only in this way with crystals on a heat-resistant substrate. These crystals have played an important role as an indispensable isolator for laser units. The transparent and colorless magnetic thin film presented here has solved this major problem, and can be produced using usual printing and coating techniques. Thus, the possibility of forming film in an atmosphere at normal temperature means that it is easy to handle. Beyond that, the cost to form the film is lower. As you may imagine, it has the same large magneto optic effects as a rare earth iron garnet film. Although rare earth iron garnet film has a yellowish pigmentation, we were able to obtain a completely transparent and colorless magnetic film. Beyond that, this technology allows us to apply the technique to isolating the newest short-wavelength laser. Because the applicable wavelength range is wider than rare earth iron garnet film, wave length tuning is not needed. Although a magneto-optical disk is commercialized as magnetic memory to record and playback using light, it is also useful as high-density magneto-optical memory if its shorter wavelength is used. However, because magnetism is weak, it is unsuitable for use as a magnet. Following is a short explanation on why such advantageous magnetic film was possible. Transparent and colorless magnetic film uses titanium oxide as the base material. Because it is dispersed underwater using a dispersant, the film can be formed using printing techniques. Beyond that, because titanium oxide is a well-known transparent material, it becomes transparent and colorless also as a magnetic film. This use is protected by multiple patents.transparent colorless magnetic thin film titanium oxide nanosheet nanometer level base material Metal added ferromagnetism polymer dispersant dispersion water printing techniques laminated structure assumed spawn large magnetooptic effect development unimaginable substance simply metal
