| The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electromechanical release for a door in white-goods appliances that is new, simple to manufacture and has minimal bulk. Opening functions are generated by using shape-memory wires which move a locking mechanism. In normal condition, the device is actuated by Joule effect that heats the shape memory wire up with electrical current. In case of need, for example when main electrical supply fails, it can be manually actuated using a cable directly connected with the shape memory actuator. When current supply is switched-off the actuator will go back to the initial position. |
