| The present invention aims at carryng out a new discrete-step rotary actuator with compact dimensions, a high power in relation to size, a noiseless operation and without the need for complex control system or mechanical reducers. This actuator has very large torque at reasonable speed, resulting in higher work capabilities than any existing EM actuator with the same overall dimensions. A truly innovative rotational device based on Shape Memory (SMA) wires with strongly reduced axial dimension and a constant high torque, has been developed. Thanks to its coin-like shape, Micro-SMA motor can be easily placed almost everywhere. |
