| Tucana is software comprising a secure, distributed, scalable, native RDF (resource description framework) database. The product enables the development of integrated, intelligent applications based on data stored in disparate back-end information repositories. Through a native architecture leveraging the RDF and OWL (web ontology language) W3C standards, Tucana is able to deliver load speeds, query flexibility, and scalability far in excess of that offered by traditional relational database technology. Through the support of a directed graph model, Tucana is able to derive intelligence from sparse, disparate data sets in real-time without the typical inflexible schema restrictions imposed by legacy systems. The Tucana Knowledge Server (TKS) is a database designed specifically for the storage, management, and analysis of metadata. It has been built from the ground up for that purpose and is not an abstraction layer on top of a traditional relational database. TKS is a semantic database built upon the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL) standards.
