| This process produces optically active phosphine oxide at 1/10 the cost of the conventional process. Optically active phosphorus compounds such as the Lynn compound are indispensible to asymmetric synthesis, but producing such compounds currently is complicated and expensive. AIST has developed this process, which extensively reacts chiral phosphinate, organic lithium, or the Grignard reagent. It efficiently produces optically active phosphine oxide. Consequently, the indispensible optically active phosphine oxide can be manufactured at 1/10 or less the cost of the current conventional process.
