Aerosol Deposition Method; Fabrication of Ceramic Ultrathin Films at Room Temperature
Aerosol deposition makes possible the formation of ultrathin ceramic films upon metals or plastics at room temperature. This method, developed by AIST, has already proved of interest to private companies and universities. Japanese technologists are currently using this method to develop advanced ceramic integration at nano sizes. Low temperatures at miniature sizes allow faster production. No binders are needed, further reducing materiel costs. The end result is a durable ultrathin film or solid pattern applied to a variety of substrates. We see potential in the areas of integrated ceramic-metal components for use in electronics, energy, and medical apparatuses.decade source science culminated AISTs aerosol deposition device 1997 discovered RTIC phenomenon powdered particles subjected high-speed impact hundred meters/second substrate results microcrystalline structure 5-500 nanometers miniaturization lowers temperature production assures uniformity resultant film pattern
