| This technology enables efficient hydrogenation at low capital investment by dissolving reagent hydrogen and the feed to be hydrogenated in a solvent --- ideally the hydrogenated product --- and reacting in a packed catalyst bed. The solvent is recycled at a high rate so that it can control reaction temperature by serving as a heat sink for energy released during hydrogenation.
