Enhance wound healing with specific microdoses of hydrogen peroxide
For years, powerful reactive oxidizing species such as hydrogen peroxide have been used in large quantities as an antiseptic. However, hydrogen peroxide kills both invasive bacteria and the body’s healthy cells. New research shows that hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in concentrations far lower than those conventionally used for antisepsis can successfully treat wound lesions from injury and surgery. This new technology opens a range of wound treatment protocols, prepared dressings, and treated devices that naturally help wounds to heal more rapidly. Further, research shows that hydrogen peroxide generated by the body itself in microdoses performs a critical signaling function that begins the body’s own healing processes, drawing leukocytes towards the wound. Dressings that bear microdoses of hydrogen peroxide can continue, enhance, and support the body’s healing processes by continually adding hydrogen peroxide to the critical area after the body’s own initial supply runs out. The hydrogen peroxide microdoses can be formulated in a variety of applications such as gels, lotions, ointments, creams, pastes, and liquids, and may be deployed to enhance healing by devices such as surgical dressings, staples, clips, sutures, catheters, and other devices and implants.years believed reactive oxygen species (ROS) damaging living cells fact hydrogen peroxide ozone powerful oxidizing effects disinfectants non-specific destroying unwanted microorganisms considerable collateral damage doses traditionally disinfecting destructive tissue
