TechPak Categories Antistatic Powder Coatings Conventionally, the antistatic or electrical conductive properties for powder coated articles are obtained by application of liquid paint that contains high amounts of conductive additives like carbon black, specially coated pigments or metallic powders. This technology directly provides powder coatings that have a low and reproducible electrical surface resistance of the coated substrate surface, can be prepared in various colors, and are easy to apply even with variation in the coating film thickness. This is achieved by a mixture of conventional, possibly colored, non-conductive thermosetting powder coating materials with highly conductive thermosetting powder coating materials. The ratio of the conductive to the non-conductive powder coating materials in the inventive mixture can be between 2.5 to 95 and 95 to 2.5.
