| Originally developed for biodegradable packaging film, this fully biodegradable resin compound also has applications in calendering, blow molding, extrusion molding, and injection molding. The product is toxicity free and safe for direct food contact, and may be buried or incinerated without producing any endocrine disrupters. It produces a film as thin as 8–10 microns that allows oxygen and moisture permeation through microscopic holes, thus suppressing the growth of anaerobic bacteria and extending the stored life of fresh food. As a film, it is clingier than polyethylene wrap. Because of its excellent miscibility with starch, the resin can produce biodegradable cling wrap or disposable bags at lower production costs. Its static electricity is only 1/25 of other commercial films of PE and PVC.Summary property tests independent agencies |
