Open to new types of packaging; repackaging is a possiblity but would prefer to utilize traditional packaging (trash bags folded or on a roll). Technology should be safe for human contact and use (employs GRAS materials) and must be able to withstand extreme temperatures associated with shipping, handling and storage - typical operating temperature of bag is 0 - 125 degrees F. Performance must be superior to that of current trash bag solutions and not negatively affect other performance aspects of the bag. Product cost must remain approximately that of a high-end drawstring trash bag; compatibility with standard extrusion and polyolefin bag-making processes; and proposed solution must be free of any liabilities and patent rights.

Possible approaches include adhesives that do not leave behind residue or buildup, electrostatic approaches, frames at the top/lid of the bag, memory materials, biomimetic approaches, or mechanical approaches.
