Account Consolidation Notice
In the past, you have established multiple accounts with yet2.com. We have consolidated your multiple accounts into a single account.
What if this isn´t the account I want to have remain?
What if I need two (or more) accounts?
What about my TechPaks, TechNeeds, and introductions?
How do I check My Profile settings to make sure that they are correct, or to change them?
Why?
Over time, many thousands of people have visited the yet2.com web site, registered, and returned at a later time. For various reasons, people have re-registered on their return rather than log in using their existing account. Often, these separate accounts leave different settings in the member´s areas of interest or saved searches. This affects yet2.com´s ability to make efficient matches between what people search for and the technologies on the site.
For those members who have multiple accounts that use the same email address, we have elected to consolidate the multiple accounts into one account. That remaining account contains all the areas of interest, saved searches, and other settings of the multiple previous accounts.
What account do I use now?
If you have just logged in by using your remaining single account, please continue to use that account. You can change your user name and password under My Profile once you have logged in. yet2.com now checks to make sure we don´t add new accounts with an email address already in use by an existing account.
If you have been told that the account you tried to log in with is no longer active, use the remaining account shown at the bottom of the Account Consolidation Notice. You can change your user name and password under My Profile, once you have logged in.
What if this isn´t the account I want to have remain?
You can change your username and password under My Profile, once you have logged in. If you have a different issue -- for example, an archived account was a personal account, but the remaining account is a group account, even though they both used the same email address -- please contact helpsupport@yet2.com.
What if I need two (or more) accounts?
If you feel that you still need more than one account connected to the same email address, contact helpsupport@yet2.com.
What happens to my settings?
The areas of interest that you checked for all your previous accounts are transferred to your single remaining account. That is, if you have checked Aerospace in one account and Biological Sciences in another, your remaining single account will have both Aerospace and Biological Sciences checked. If one account says that you are able to recieve email in HTML and the other does not, the remaining single account will have checked that you are able to receive HTML email.
Any saved searches from your previous accounts are reassigned to the remaining single account.
What about my TechPaks, TechNeeds, and introductions?
All previous accounts that have authored TechPaks, TechNeeds, and that have requested introductions have had those items transferred appropriately to the single remaining account.
How do I check My Profile settings to make sure that they are correct, or to change them?
- Log in, and then click my profile from the secondary (black) menu bar.
- To change your user name, click Member on the My Profile page, and verify that the information is correct, and that the user name you want appears on the page. When you are satisfied with the information, click Submit.
- To change your password, click Change Password on the My Profile page, and then enter your current password, type your new password, and type your new password again. Because you can´t see the password as you´re typing, yet2.com asks for it twice.
