Job Summary

Responsible for arranging regular new business sales calls for themselves and the wider sales function, whilst developing a long-term pipeline of prospects that will transition into accounts. Following up on all new leads & prospects, and where appropriate identifying deepening / growth opportunities and running campaigns with established accounts.

Location:  Corporate Headquarters: Waltham, MA (Part of the greater Boston area)

About You:

The ideal candidate will be a highly resilient self-starter, motivated and willing to learn in a technical environment. You will be comfortable with a “consultative” sales approach, and a gradual sales cycle, reaching sales agreements for large fees. Comfort on the phone also important.

You will be able to build ongoing key relationships with new sales targets, and comprehensively feed this intel back into a technically astute project delivery & management team.


  • Setting regular sales appointments
  • Sales outreach i.e. cold calling, emailing, social media
  • Arranging “pitch calls” on a frequent basis
  • Assisting account managers with sales outreach deepening efforts
  • Maintaining CRM to a high standard
  • Preparing stats for own performance on a weekly basis
  • Liaising with the wider sales & marketing function on a regular basis


Measures & targets:

  • Maintaining a high number of new business sales calls monthly
  • Build a pipeline of qualified opportunities into the CRM
  • Meeting annual target for revenue & sales calls




  • Sales background of at least 1-2 years in a predominately B2B environment
  • Track record of delivering against a revenue target
  • Ability to “objection handle” and problem solve under pressure
  • Ability to make cold calls and regular presentation style pitches
  • Must be able to “build” lists of targets and gather key intel
  • Comfortable managing own diary and keeping track of all sales opportunities



  • Experience with Fortune 500 / FTSE 100 companies
  • LinkedIn presence and ability to use this as a sales tool
  • Some knowledge of the R&D / Innovation space
  • Good knowledge of researching business’s and their structure
  • Ability to write sales proposals & build presentations
  • Negotiation & experience of convincing various stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s Degree
