Mondelēz International is seeking bioinformatics and other data mining tools for food-related biological systems. Science is starting to unravel linkages between a human gut microbiome and physiological conditions or cognitive performance. Looking for novel linkages that can be positively impacted by eating the right foods. The gut microbiome is only one of many microbiomes found in nature: we are also interested in the soil microbiomes of plants that can be altered for positive effects such as increased nutritional quality.
The dramatic reduction in the cost of genotyping and advances in computational tools over the last decade have resulted in the ability to acquire and interpret not only a human individual but their microbiome. And this capability is transferring out of human and animal healthcare to agriculture.
Key Success Criteria
- Scientific credibility.
