Med-Tech Innovation Expo Insights

On June 9th Emma, Hayden and Imran took their talents on the road to the Med-Tech Innovation Expo at the National Exhibition Center outside of Birmingham in the UK. The Med-Tech Innovation Expo brings together over 150 companies in the medical device and manufacturing supply chain space, ranging from start-ups, SME’s, and industry leaders.
Whilst there the team met a range of exciting new innovators eager to make their impact on the industry as well as reconnecting with previous solution providers – it was great to see their continued successes. Some of the more promising startups included a company developing a patch for pain management and a small nutraceutical company developing products with novel benefits. They also connected with a range of prospective clients, whom we are already having some thrilling innovation discussions with.
As an added bonus, the team were able to visit the neighbouring expo on 3D printing and additives where they encountered 3D printers the size of a small room and companies delving into the use of sustainable materials when printing.
Some highlights of the visit included:
- Meeting the delegation from the Italian Trade Agency and some of the top medical manufacturing companies in Italy
- Speaking with the Economic Development Board of Mauritius
- Discussing with Life Sciences Hub Wales how they support emerging tech and innovations
