Seeking: Edgy Health and Wellness Products
A yet2 client, a multi-level marketing company, is seeking edgy (unique) and novel health and wellness products that are outside the mainstream market. Products should be demonstrable, intuitive, and be of high value to the consumer. Products should also have compelling aspects that act as conversation starters, such as a unique origin story, unusual ingredient, etc. The ideal target company would be somewhere between a start-up and an established company, with a product that is beyond the prototype stage and able to scale quickly.

Is the Tipping Point for AI here?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to change how we work, play, and live, but it may not change things nearly as quickly or as impressively as today’s hype claims it will. In the words of Gary Marcus, commented during the Open Data Science Conference, “We wanted Rosie the Robot and we got the hockey puck Roomba.” The reality is that AI, machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) capabilities today lie somewhere in the middle.

Seeking: Partners to Co-develop Existing Drilling Technology for Geothermal
yet2’s client, a very large international company, has developed a continuous drilling while casing geo-drilling technology that we believe could be very useful in geothermal applications.
This technology was initially developed for oil and gas well drilling. Now, the client is seeking to engage with partners knowledgable about geothermal wells to assist in further development.
Together with a development partner, we would like to take advantage of the U.S. Department of Energy’s $14.5M in funding for geothermal technology development. The grants are to be used for technology that 1) reduces non-drilling time; 2) advanced drilling technologies; and 3) innovative partnership models.

CPME: New extractant efficiently and selectively separates and recovers gold (Au) | Novel Conductive, Adhesive Materials for Flexible and Ultra-thin Sensors and Devices | |
Currently, cyclopentyl methyl ether (CPME) is used as a solvent primarily in the pharma industry, where product purity is of paramount importance. Recent tests show that it also has a high selectivity for gold (Au) ions and can substitute for DBC (di-butyl carbitol) in solvent-extraction methods that recover gold from mine tailings and home appliance waste products such as printed-circuit boards.
The technology is already in industrial production using Zeon’s proprietary synthesis process and is supported by three U.S. patents. |
Anisotropic Conductive Film (ACF) has proven its reliability in years of display applications. Now Dexerials is releasing ACF in epoxy or acrylic resins that are especially suited to fine-pitch and low-temperature bonding, and that offer reliable connections able to handle high-speed transmissions of over 20Gbps (10GHz ) with low data loss (return loss), such as transmissions used in 5G communications. ACF is a heat-settable adhesive film made up of homogenous conductive particles arranged in such a way that they are conductive across film thickness but insulate along the plane of the film. |
