A yet2 client is seeking a method for detecting a hole in the bottom layer of multiple titanium, aluminium or metal composite sheets. Currently each layer is 5 – 20mm thick, with the full stack being 20 – 100mm thick. The hole has a standard 3/16 diameter (~5mm) and can be up to 10mm deep. Current methods of detection include the use of magnets and electromagnetic frequency.
Experimental data on anisotropic conductive film “ACF made by Dexerials” that can even be used for high frequency transmission (5G band)
Dexerials Corporation verified transmission loss up to 40 GHz at electric interconnect parts between flexible printed circuit and rigid board, using an evaluation board designed by electromagnetic field simulation
In comparison with conventional mechanical connectors, Dexerials’s ACF had a lower transmission loss under high frequency band widths and less ripples. Therefore, Dexerials’s ACF is more suitable for high-speed transmission applications.
Dexerials also carried out electromagnetic field simulation and made comparison with the measured transmission loss up to 60 GHz.
The oil & gas industry faces a fundamental challenge: managing the business in what is an intrinsically volatile sector. It is often difficult for any business to balance both short-term and long-term goals with inherent volatility; understanding the enduring and emerging trends within the oil & gas industry is essential for layering meaningful innovation on top of the complexity of the business. One might easily shy away from innovation because of the unstable nature of the industry; however, that is exactly the wrong approach to take. Innovation is the key to optimizing productivity, developing new revenue opportunities, and uncovering unexplored approaches to enhancing the business.
New Quintone® DX-590_DP resin can add the properties of tackiness, friction, binding, and processability to polymers that don’t possess these properties or that need them enhanced. It offers a wide and diverse area of application. Applications include food packaging, binding cellulose for water resistance, sizing paper for better ink acceptance, adding adhesion to tapes and labels, adding adhesion to fertilizers and pharmaceuticals for controlled release, adding tackiness to rubbers and specialty plastics, stress relief in wrapping films, and improving the mixing, kneading, and processability properties of resins and inorganic materials. Quintone can act as a binding agent for inorganic materials and ceramics. It burns off in the firing. It can be added to hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesives (HMPSA), where it offers low-odor, excellent thermal stability, and high adhesive performance.
