Marine Energy Commercialization Opportunity with TEAMER

Share

As of today, a new type of TEAMER support is available: Commercialization.

For years, TEAMER has provided testing support for Marine Energy technology at research facilities across the country: numerical modeling, lab/bench, tank/basin/tunnel/flume, even open water testing. But developing a functional, durable, innovative marine energy device was just the beginning.

How do you bring that technology to market, turn all of that work into a profitable company? It’s a complex situation that presents a whole new set of challenges requiring entirely different areas of expertise.

Good news: through TEAMER’s Facility Network, fully vetted organizations are available to help you navigate this daunting shift from R&D to market entry. yet2, Factor Growth, Environmental Science Associates, Rare Innovation, and VentureWell (and more to come) offer support in funding continuity, financial management, community engagement, marketing & outreach, market identification, IP strategy, business development, marine energy education, planning expertise, investor engagement, and more. You may submit TEAMER applications at any time, and they will be reviewed following the schedule below. Applications submitted after the due date will be considered for the next RFTS. All TEAMER support activities should take place within a 9-month access period.

  • RFTS 17 Applications due by February 6, 2026

TEAMER Requests for Technical Support are a collaboration between the technology developer or researcher, and the facility chosen to help meet the recipient’s technical objectives. Prior to applying for support, recipients are required to have discussed their technical objectives with the facility to ensure the facility has the capability to assist and provide the necessary support. Only approved test facilities are eligible to provide technical support.
