UK-Based Open Innovation Project Leader

yet2 is seeking a recent PhD or MBA-level graduate, with a BSc or BEng background to assist with our global clients’ technical and strategic objectives via technology scouting, technology monetization, and strategic guidance with regards to open innovation. The successful candidate will be based at our offices in either Liverpool (Albert Docks) or Nottingham (Innovation Park), working with other yet2 Project Leaders and Innovation Managers to execute projects. This role is an avenue toward accelerated career growth at yet2.

 

Major Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Project execution: work with project team to deliver work product that leverages yet2’s capabilities and aims at exceeding client’s expectations.
    • Assess client’s technical needs and set project strategy: engage with multiple stakeholders on the client side to thoroughly understand and assess their technical, commercial, and strategic needs.
    • Conduct market research: scout for, conduct anonymous inquires, and evaluate potential solutions (e.g., novel technologies, relevant experts, CDMOs and more).
    • Strategic guidance: determine the underlying budget holder “pain” and partner with the client to troubleshoot solutions beyond the initial brief description. Guide project direction iteratively, being open and reactive to evidence uncovered via market research and changes in the client’s needs.
  • Report writing: prepare reports and presentations for clients. Draw necessary data and results from team and client, determine critical vs. non-critical delivery components, hone appropriate message, and assess client expectations to prepare well written, high-quality reports and deliverables.
  • Presentation: clear and confident communication with multi-stakeholder, technical client teams of varying seniority.
  • Drive repeat business: build trust, momentum and insight at key clients, in order to translate successful projects into future engagements.

In addition, they should have interest in building long-term relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business opportunities.

Educational Requirements:

PhD in Science or Engineering-related discipline or MBA with BSc or BEng.

 

Salary Expectations: £34,000 – £38,000. Negotiable based on experience and education

 

Skill Requirements:

  • General: history of strong academic performance
  • Analytics: familiarity and comfort with some technical/scientific disciplines.
  • Communication: experience and skill in building and delivering projects presentations; attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal: excellent interpersonal and external relationship building skills: team player interested in working in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong conversational and technical English; a second language is not required, but a plus
