Overview:
NASA is seeking an advanced document generation solution that seamlessly integrates Salesforce data management capabilities with a collaborative tool such as Google Workspace. The ideal solution will enable the CoECI team to generate, share, edit, and finalize project documents with maximum efficiency and minimal manual intervention. This will include the ability to create and customize templates with advanced formatting logic, including dynamic field population, and the flexibility to adapt templates to various project needs.
Background:
NASA has been systematically improving its project management processes by centralizing functionality within Salesforce. Currently, document generation occurs in Google Drive, creating a disconnect between data collection and document creation. There is a critical need for a unified solution that bridges Salesforce’s data tracking with collaborative features such as Google Workspace.
The document generation solution will:
- Support automated document generation using Salesforce record data
- Enable real-time data synchronization
- Allow dynamic formatting with conditional logic
- Support creation and customization of legally approved templates
- Support rich-text formatting
- Enable workflow-based document generation and approval processes
- Maintain data integrity across platforms
- Security Requirements – Demonstrate capability to meet federal government security requirements (FedRAMP), including potential for Zero Trust Architecture, multi-factor authentication, comprehensive identity and access management, and compliance with Authority to Operate (ATO) standards
Desired:
- Integrate seamlessly with Salesforce Lightning (but does not need to be native to Salesforce) and either Google Docs (preferably) or other word processing tools
- Minimal manual data entry
- Easy template customization
- Scalable solution adaptable to future business needs
- Ability to generate a final version in PDF.
- Customer support services for configuration, set-up, and possibly maintenance.
Desired outcome of the solution:
NASA seeks partnership opportunities for implementation across CoECI function, if successful, there could be opportunity for wider adoption within NASA. Collaborative solutions that can demonstrate clear value and seamless functionality are of particular interest.
